Fantastic hand carved tree wood vintage humorous human masks. They appear to be painted with a high quality paint. I am unsure when they were made, but there appears to be some age to them. There are no manufacturing or maker's marks on them.
Unfortunately I know almost nothing about them, except that I have never seen anything like them. They are almost grotesque, but not quite. The talent required to carve these is incredible. The extended tongue on one, and the large noses are amazing.
Condition:
Very good, there appears to be a little bit of dirt, but I have not attempted to clean them.
SIZE:
The lengths vary from 6" - 8" long; by 4-6" wide; and up to 5" deep.
