American Fabrics Magazine was published by Reporter Publications.
The American Fabrics Offices were located at York I, New York.
The cover artwork was usually done by a noted important artist.
This was a very lavish trade publication for the fabrics industry (including fashion designers & manufacturers, industrial uses such as automobile interiors, and furniture manufacturers.)
Size: 11" by 14.5"
Many of the issues have bonus materials, or inserts. I will list each of these with the individual listings below.
The front page reads:
...dedicated to the belief that Fashion begins with the Fabric...that the American textile industry casts a major influence on the economic and social aspects of the world in which we live and that it has deservedly attained the world's pinnacle from which it can never be dislodged.
Each issue holds a treasure trove of visual and tactile delights. Each issue focuses on a specific theme or style or type of fabric.
Most of the issues are about 90% black and white, with color pages and ads dotted throughout.
There are beautiful and stylish advertisements. Samples of fabrics permeate each issue.
My issues were acquired from one source. They have been kept dry and are free from odors and foxing.
There is some wear and tear to be expected, as these are over 50 years old.
I will attempt to describe condition issues and content. I will happily expand on the information upon your inquiry.
