Beautiful Art Deco chrome compact. This is very clean, does not appear to have been used.
There is a lamb's wool power puff, and the powder tray is very clean.
The mirror is free from blemishes, cracks or crazing.
There are no maker's marks on the compact.
The only clue is the felt bag that held the compact when I aquired it.
The bag reads (somewhat faded) WISS Founded 1848. Newark. (Then two more words which are not legible).
J. Wiss & Sons was a fine jewelry store, and also the manufacturing company which made the famous WISS scissors and cutlery.
