The Armadillo design is well known and was produced by Hector Aguilar, Manuel Altamirano and others. Attribution for the actual design has been given to Valentin Vidaurreta.  These items are old, however due to the lack of marks, it is hard to give a definitive date.  My guess would be that they are older, from the 1940s. 

It is rare to find the complete parure, tucked into what could very well be its original presentation box.
There is a lovely patina for which we have a great respect and no efforts have been made to clean or polish these pieces.  We acquired them in this lovely old box.  It is black velvet, lined with a creamy white suede-like fabric.  The silver latches were nailed in by hand. It's a delightful bonus.

          IMPORTANT TO KNOW: 

• The bracelet is marked: SILVER TAXCO in an old type of font.  NONE OF THE OTHER PIECES HAVE ANY KIND OF CONTENT OR MAKER'S MARK.
• The necklace is not complete, it needs velvet ribbon added to make it wearable. However, the original CLASP IS present.
• The belt is not complete, it needs the addition of leather or suede to make it wearable.

 Measurements:
Armadillo Earrings: 4.2 grams each/  3/4" long / screw backs.
Armadillo Cuff Bracelet: 69 grams / 7" around, will fit small to med wrist.  Just a tad over 1.5" tall at the highest point.
Armadillo Necklace pieces: 70 grams / 8 " long by 1.5" ; Clasp measures 1.25" and has a nice tight closure.
Armadillo Belt Buckle:109 grams  / 6.5" by 2.75" at widest point.
