Less is more, and that theory is proven here with this beautiful modernist plaque depicting the Last Supper.
The 12 Disciples are depicted in silver (not sure if it is sterling or alpaca, as it is not marked) and abalone. The Lord Jesus has a beautiful halo of either mother of pearl or lucite plastic (again, I am not sure). There is a hand cut chalis and loaf of bread (which is a dot of silver). Very beautiful and understated. Would go with any number of decors, moderne, primative, Latin, traditional.
I am unsure of the type of wood used. It is stained a dark brown-black. The "table" appears to be the color of rosewood.
NOTE: there is a name printed in marker at the top of both corners on the BACK of this piece. I do not think it is the artist. It looks more like a previous owner wrote it.
Measurements: Fifteen and half inches long, by 5" wide.
Age: unknown, I would guess it to be from the 1970s or 80s.
Mark: Los Castillo in copper circle as shown.
