I love the little Eastern European souvenir bakelite carvings from the 1940s and 50s.  Usually they are found as folk dancers, but here is something a bit different. This is a sweet  little gnome-like creature dangling his bakelite fish at the "fishing well".  It is marked KRYNICA, which is in Poland. He is made entirely of Bakelite (except for his metal fishing pole).  His hat is painted red, and the "well" is red prystal bakelite.

Approx. 2.5" wide by 2" tall.
